New Digital Appeals Tool

On Friday, March 23, 2018, the VA launched a new update to their Appeals Status tool to help Veterans track the status of their claim. This tool is supposed to help Veterans view the current process of their claim, another attempt by the VA to make the claims process easier and faster.

By using this tool, Veterans will no longer see “in progress” for months with no change. Instead, they will be able to view the process to bring more transparency from the VA to Veterans.

The purpose of the “Appeals Status tool to increase transparency and enable Veterans to track the progress of their benefits claims appeals,” according to the VA.

Using this tool, Veterans can see where they are in the claims process and how many other people are in front of them. It can also be used to find out what other documents are needed and an estimate of how long each step in the process will take.

This development is another way the VA is working on winning their Veterans trust back.

This tool is now live on the VA’s website, and Veterans can begin using it.
